Postpartum alopecia is totally normal! Hair loss that occurs in women about two to four months after giving birth. Postpartum alopecia forms part of the diffuse hair loss occurring at an acute telogen phase. This is an excessive shedding that is temporary and most visible at the frontal vertex. This particular type of alopecia is caused by lower estrogen levels. Hair may appear thin, dull and greasy.
